Clarinetist Martha MacDonald is a graduate of Baylor University, The University of Michigan, and The University of Texas at Austin, where her teachers have included Noah Knepper, Albert Luconi, John Mohler, and Leland Munger. Executive director and clarinetist of the Austin (Texas) Chamber Ensemble, she is an active chamber musician and a founding member of the Collage Woodwind Quintet and Cantilena Chamber Soloists, and has performed extensively throughout the United States and Europe, most recently in France, Germany and the Netherlands, where formerly she was woodwind instructor at the American School of the Hague. Dr. MacDonald has served as president of the Mu Phi Epsilon International Music Fraternity Foundation Board and is currently on the board of Austin Young Artists Concerts. She is also on the Texas Commission on the Arts touring roster as part of a duo with harpist Delaine Fedson and maintains a private music studio in Austin. |
